ASF – The Academy of Skateboard Filmmakers

A Film Festival without an Academy composed of some of the best filmmakers and most influential people in the industry would be nonsense. Therefore, the Festival has been gathering – and will keep on doing so in the future – the most pertinent and influential personalities who, by their expertise, knowledge of the industry and the way they perceive the different stages of skateboarding will keep the Festival on its toes whenever creativity is concerned.

Part of the Academy members’ role will be to nominate the judges and define the criteria of judgment amongst other activities.

Ultimately, the Academy serves as the foundation for the Festival long-term and global vision.

THE ACADEMICIANS

Stacy Peralta: Screenplay writer and director
C.R. Stecyk: Writer, Co-Founder of Juxtapoz and Thrasher magazines

When I saw the link to this contest on http://www.skateboarding.com I was astonished. I wondered if the skateboarding world had a film festival. Judging from the progression of the filmmaking in recent films I cannot wait to see the films that get submitted into this contest. Thank you so much for putting having this contest, this is amazing! Roll forever guys.

I had a fun time at the LA skate film festival. I made it a go-see. Any events they open to industry people I would like to go to. I have a skate film produced that may enter well. It has other action on it, so its not 100% skating. But, maybe it is what they are looking for. HARRY KALLET. keep me on a mailing list please.
